The content of Refrigeration Plant Operator (RPO) Edition 4 follows the syllabus structure to prepare students to challenge the SOPEEC interprovincial Refrigeration Operator Certificate of Competency. Book 4: Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC)

This book highlights the importance of maintaining consistent air temperature, cleanliness, and humidification for the comfort of people working or living in buildings such as office or apartment buildings.

The first unit in this book consists of five chapters, the first of which covers air conditioning. The second chapter describes the purpose and principles of humidification. The third chapter discusses fans for air distribution, and is followed by a chapter on ventilation and air filter types. The last chapter in this unit explains HVAC duct system classifications.
